The first funds raised by the One Name One Child record attempt were used to save seven abandoned children from Kawangware district in Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya. Thanks to our donors, these children found a new home, bed, food, clothes and school in the Children`s Garden center, which is being supported by One Name One Child funding. We thank you for giving these children a chance for a new future.
I have to admit that I have never trusted charitable organisations. When I was young, I didn’t support the state-imposed charity for Vietnamese children because I knew my money wouldn’t go to those poor kids but rather to support military objectives of communist Vietnam. Later I did choose to support the American Vietnam War veterans though because they also suffered at the hands of conflict. It is sad to say that many Americans refused to integrate those returning from war back into the society they sought to protect. Today I’m supporting the programme, One Name One ...
